“性别歧视”英语怎么说

名词解释：性别歧视指在关于性别上存在的偏见，指一种性别成

员对另一种性别成员的不平等对待。尤其是男性对女性的不平等对待。

两性之间的不平等，造成社会的性别歧视。但也可用来指称任何因为

As the Ellen Pao sex discrimination trial continues to

captivate Silicon Valley, the law firm representing Ms. Pao has

filed a bias case on behalf of another woman against an even

bigger target: Facebook.

Chia Hong, who worked for Facebook from 2010 to 2013,

said that she faced discrimination, harassment and retaliation —

and was eventually fired — because she is a woman and of

Taiwanese descent, according to a lawsuit filed in state court in

San Mateo County, where the company is based.

In response to Ms. Hong's suit, Facebook said in a statement:

"We work extremely hard on issues related to diversity, gender

and equality, and we believe we've made progress."

就在鲍康如(Ellen Pao)性别歧视案持续在硅谷引发热议的同时，

代表她的律师事务所又为另一名女性提交了歧视诉讼状，这次针对的

公司规模更大：Facebook。

在Facebook总部所在地圣马特奥市的州法院提交的一份诉讼资

料显示，洪嘉(音译)2010年至2013年供职于Facebook，她说由于自

己是女性，而且有台湾血统，在该公司受到歧视、骚扰和报复，并最

终遭到解雇。

对于洪嘉的诉讼，Facebook发表声明说：“我们在多元化、性别

和平等问题上付出了极大的努力，我们相信已经在这些方面取得了进

展。”

文中的sex discrimination就是“性别歧视”的意思，也可以表

示为gender discrimination，其中discrimination是名词，意为“歧

视”，如：discrimination against immigrants(对移民的歧视)，也

可以指辨别精微事物的能力，如：subtle discrimination(敏锐的识别
