Teaching procedure

Step1 Warm-up

In this part, I’ll have a free talk with students. The first aim is to review the target

language by oral work. The second aim is to arouse Ss’ interest.

Step2 Pre-reading

1. Make a list of the kinds of parties people have by showing some pictures.

2. Presentation

I’ll ask“if we are going to have a party，what can we do before it？”

Ss may have different answers. I’ll tell the Ss what we said are called ‘party

preparations’Then read and repeat‘party preparations’

T: one of the most important things during the party preparations is to‘make an

invitation ’ Then read and repeat ‘make an invitation ’

T：There are two kinds of replies. One is to ‘accept an invitation ‘, the other is to

‘turn down an invitation’.

First, read the third message carefully and fill in the form

can help with? The students may give the answers according to the message.

Then, explain some language points. Finally, talk about how to write an invitation together.

2. Read M1 and M2

First, read by scanning and listening. Read and fill in the form.

2. Process writing. The writing material will be listed by some questions.
