Located in the east of the Asian continent, on the western shore the Pacific

Ocean ,the PRC has a land area of about 9.6 million square kilometres ,and is the

third largest country in the world .next only to Russia and Canada. China is a

country in the world of varied topographical features with highlands in the west

and plains in the east .Mountainous land and very rough terrains make up about

67% of Chinese territory, basins and plans about 33%. Most of lies in the north

temperate zone, characterised by a warm climate and distinctive seasons ,a

climate well suited for habitation.

基督教。道教是中国土生土长的宗教，而其他四种是有其他国家传入中国的宗教。中国公

people are mainly Taoism , Buddhism , Islam , Catholicism and Christianity .among

which Taoism is indigenous to China while the others are of foreign

origin .Chinese citizens may freely choose their religious beliefs and make clear

affiliations.

据中人物使用不同的脸谱。唱念做打是京剧表演中的四种主要艺术手段，也是京剧演

Beijing Opera ,which has a history of more than 200 years ，enjoys the greatest

reputation among China’s traditional operas .In Beijing Opera, performers wear

different types of make-up according to the characters they perform .Singing

recitation , acting and acrobatic fighting are the four major artistic means and the

four basic skills of Beijing Opera . Each action of a Beijing Opera performers is

highly symbolic .Gestures , footwork ,and other body movements can express the

actions such as opening a door ,gonging upstairs ,rowing a boat ,riding a horse ,etc.

春节是中国农历年的岁首，是最隆重的传统节日。春节的习俗很多，如放鞭炮、贴春

联、#大年、吃饺子等。春节期间，各地还会举办各种庆祝活动，其中传统庙会活动会一直

持续很多天。

The Spring Festival is China’s most important traditional festival that falls on

the first day first lunar month .There are many customs observed during this festival

such as burning firecracker , pasting Spring Festival couplets ,paying New Year

visits ,eating dumplings ,etc . There are various celebrations in the different places

during this festival , among which traditional temple fairs last for days.

There is an old saying in China .”food is what matters most to people ” . It

illustrate the significant role food plays in the life of Chinese people .As a vast

country with diverse climates .and customs , China is known to have eight

regional cuisines which include Shangdong Sichuan , Guangdong , Fujian ,

Jiangsu , Zhejiang , anhui , and hunan cuisines .There are three essential standard

by which Chinese cooking is judged ,namely colour ,aroma , and taste ,with taste

being the most important .The names of Chinese dishes are many and

various .There are interesting stories behind the names famous Chinese dishes ,

which add to the mystique of Chinese food culture.

的服装舞台上，中国的唐装、旗袍、中山装等仍是深受欢迎，成为许多的顶级大师们的灵

As a vital part of Chinese civilisation , traditional Chinese costumes and

adornments paly an importment role in the country ‘s history and culture .On the

stage of fashion ,the Tang costume .cheongsam , and Chinese tunic suit have still

been popular ; and they have become the source of inspirations for many top

fashion designers .Embroidery , batik ,and other traditional Chinese folk arts have

also attracted tourists at home and abroad .

中秋节In Chian, the Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most important festivals.

Talking of the traditions about Mid-Autumn Festival, It is a great chance for

Chinese families to sit together, enjoying the beautiful round moon and hand-

made delicious moon cakes. Just like other traditional festivals in China, the main

purpose of Mid-Autumn is not to enjoy the meals, or to appreciate the beautiful

views. In fact, it’s the feeling of family that makes this festival so important to

Chinese, and that’s the reason why we love it.

Spring Festival day that the families get together. Chinese people most like

the Spring Festival. The spring festival is usually in the February ,.In the spring

festival, every family all paste the lucky, Spring Festival couplets and they fire the

cracker ,they eat the dumplings, we are have make dumplings it, is very

delicious .playing fireworks in the open air. My brother and I played fireworks on

that day. We had many fireworks.. the families get together to have the new

year's dinner, wish each other ,talk about the wishes about the new year .Small I

hope make progress in study and everyone in families happy. we are receive the

money given to them as a lunar new year gift .l like it very much

元旦chinese new year chinese new year is a chinese traditional festival.

we also call it the spring festival. it is on lunar january 1st. on new year’s

eve, all the people sit around the desk and have a big family dinner. there are

some vegetables, some fish, some meat, some fruits and some drink like juice,

coke, pepsi and some nice wine. overall, this is a good and delicious dinner. after

dinner, we always watch tv new year progammes. we have a wonderful evening

on new year’s eve. on the first day of the spring festival, most of people get

up early and say “happy new year” to each other. for breakfast, people often

eat dumplings and baozi. after breakfast, people often make many delicious

foods, and children often play cards, computer games and fireworks. on the

second and third day, we visit friends and relatives. everyone is busy on

chinese new year, and everyone is happy, too.

红楼梦 A Dream of the Red Mansions by Cao Xueqin reached the pinnacle of

classical Chinese novels .It has acknowledge as the greatest novel in Chinese

literature.

The writer was born into a noble and powerful family,which was later reduced

to poverty from extreme prosperity .His novel describes the prosperity and

decline of a large leudal family .The central thread of novel is the tragic love story

between Jia Baoyu and liandaiyu .Instead of just telling the love story ,it taps

social origins of the tragedy through probing deeply into the characters’ minds

and complicated relationships , The character jiabaoyu lindaiyu ,xuebaocha sister

feng and Granny liu have become artistic figures of lasting charm.
