Order、book和reserve作”预订”的区别
一、牛津字典的英文解释及例句
:
、to arrange with a hotel ,restaurant,theatre,etc. to have a room ,table,seat,
etc. on a particular date. (向旅馆、饭店、戏院等)预定、预约。
、 to arrange for sb to have a seat on a plane etc.(给某人)预定飞机等座位。
2、Order

订货;要求提供服务。 用法: order sth for sb ; order (sb)sth

3、Reserve:
to ask for a seat ,table,room ,etc. to be available for you or sb else at a future time预定、
预约(座位、席位、房间等)
I'd like to reserve a table for three for eight o'clock.我想预定八点钟供三人用餐的桌位。
to keep sth for sb / sth ,so that it cannot be used by any other person or for any other
person .保留、贮备。 用法:reserve sth for sb
These seats are reserved for special guests .这些座位是留给贵宾的。
二、三者间的异同
1. Order 作为名词,有“订单”的意思。因此作为动词有“订购、订货”的意思。尤指书面下
定单,较正式。此外,在就餐时的“点酒、点菜”用order。
2. Book 指“预定”的意思。向旅馆预定房间、向饭店预定席位、预订车票等。此时的用法等
同于reserve。
3. Reserve 作“预定”时,等同于book,只不过在表示给某人“预留”某物的时候,只能用
reserve。
