Missy was absolutely my best friend in the whole

world. We had known each other since first grade,

and we literally did everything together. We

frequently visited each other's homes, we knew

each other's families like they were our own.

Looking at the dent with some crashed leaves and

bark still sticking there, I attempted to perish her

thought, "I don't think your father will buy it."

"Don't worry, "she insisted, "even if my dad

doesn’t trust me, he'll trust you."

My role was to confirm for her. Now keep in

mind that I had strong objections to lying and I

wanted absolutely nothing to do with the

situation. I loved her parents just like my own,

and I did not want to be a party to this lie that

Missy was creating.

Nevertheless, after much request and a general questioning of my loyalty to our

friendship, I decided that the least I could do was to act as a silent

witness. That way, I wasn't actually lying; I just wasn't telling the full truth.又

出现了类似于peer pressure或者“友谊大拷问"环节，我决定不说话，不承

认，不否认，不积极，不主动，不负责的"海王"准则可“不作为”也许也是

一种“作为”。

Her father looked at me with great disbelief.这句我想到的是(1)Missy说完，

她父亲不相信她，于是看着我;(2)我也说谎了，谎言戳破了，信任破裂了，

她爸爸失望难以置信地看着我来吧来吧，开始了

An hour or so later, we presented Missy's father with the car and the inquiry

began. Missy's father carefully examined the dent, his eyes narrowing as he

observed the car's damaged surface, noticing the remnants of leaves and bark

firmly embedded in the paint. "What happened?" he asked. Missy, in her usual

confident manner, rolled out the rehearsed story,believing things would go as

she had planned. Hearing each word, I could feel a "bang" in my mind, yet

I held my silence, reminding myself of my mitment to Missy, while also being

careful not to utter a single false word.

Her father looked at me with great disbelief. As I had frequently visited his

home in the past, he regarded me as a reliable figure. His eyes searched mine,

as if trying to probe the truth my silence was struggling to conceal. I took a

deep breath, torn between loyalty to my friend and honesty with the man who

had been like a second father to me. My heart pounded as the silence of my

plicity in that moment was deafening. It was the first time I truly prehended the

immense burden borne by a lie, and hoped that my friend could learn a lesson

from this imperfect lie.【很纠结，到底要不要写我承认错误，可是这样写，

Missy能理解我么，又要费些笔墨去描述，所以采用这种模糊的方式有点

像那一篇故意避开父亲是否“离开”，只写作者的感受。
