carry,bear,bring,convey,take,transport的区别

这些动词都很相似，表示物体或人在空间上的移动。Carry和

bear都表示对负荷的支撑，但是在这两个词中，只有carry有从一处

移动到另一处的含义。一只猴子只能站在原动bear重物，但是

carrying重物则是将它移动到某一处:The bridge was designed to

bear the heaviest load any train could carry. 当然，bear也可以表

示移动，在这种情况下，它表示有尊严的举动或方式：the royal

carriage bearing the queen and her consort. 另一方面，Carry无

需强调被移动物体的重量：carrying only a small handbag and a

pair of gloves. Bear 另外还有忍受的含义，这是carry所没有的：He

bore with him all his life the memory of her painful death.

Transport比这些词更加正式且更专业，它通常仅表示货物的运

输和将人当货物一样运输：helicopters to transport troops to the

ort比carry更加强调向一个目标或目的地运动。它

与bear所指的方式形成对比，纯粹将物体的运输当作物流问题看待。

Bring和take是这些里面最不正式的。bring指向讲话者移动，

take指远离讲话者。两者都带有命令式的口吻：take away this

ghastly veal cutlet and bring me my dessert. 在实际使用中，朝向

或远离目的地的命令并不总是被遵守。两者也都表示一种伴随或引导

运动，而不是一件事物携带另一件事物。【Take me to the nearest

hospital; The ski lift will bring you within a few feet of the

mountaintop.】

Convey在莎士比亚的时代是bring和take 不折不扣的同义词。

在这个意思上讲，它现在极其正式，且主要用于指通过中间人传递信

息。【Convey my best wishes to the rest of your family; The

ambassador personally conveyed the president's message to the

prime minister.】Convey 并不一定表示实际的运动。【If my letter

conveyed the impression that I was indifferent, please forgive me;

His tone conveyed his real feelings more accurately than his

words.】
