attempt可以用作动词

attempt的基本意思是“尝试”,指某人需要很大的勇气第一次

做一次具体的努力或尝试做事的艰难过程,它只强调动作实际开始,

其结果可能成功,也可能失败,往往带有“妄图”的意味。

attempt后可接名词、代词、动词不定式或动名词作宾语,动词

不定式或动名词作宾语所表达的意思几乎相同,但由于习惯,用不定

式时较多些。

attempt比较正式,多用于书面语。
