难以理解的句子结构（27）

131、The same is true of 这也适用于…，…也是如此;

例句：Sound is intangible and the same is true of light. 声音是不可触摸的,如同光线一般。

在英语中the same is true of和 the same is true for 意思基本相同。该句型的完整形式

是：the same is true of sb./sth.+that从句。如：The same is true of computers that go to poor

households in the United States.在美国购买计算机的贫穷家庭也是同样心态。其中的be true

of的意思是“也 同样（适用) ”。

句型中的the same 指代前面所提内容，在这里做主语，of 短语做true的定语。就是说

the same部分内容和of 后面的内容是一样正确，适用。

这说明严谨的用法（不加the）常用于书面体，而非严谨的用法（加the)常用于口语中。last

but no least意为“最后,但并非最不重要”。

本句可以看成是“there be + 名词词组+同位语从句”句型，that从句可当同位语从句。

that从句也可当作saying后的宾语从句。There is no saying that…意为“难以断言，很难说，

没法知道…”。

There is + no + doing something 是英语中的固定搭配 ，表示“说不上;很难说”。其中的

动词（do）多为“转述”或“认知”等意义的动词，如：tell, say, know等，其后一般跟疑问

句，如when，what等。如:There is no saying what may happen. 很难说会发生什么事。
