The recognition of the importance of study effects students to learn

things

一Brief introduction to investigation

I am in Lu Biao School practicing as an intern teacher for three months.

I did this survey in class (2) grade 9 pointed at the reason why students

have no motivation to learn things by this investigation, I want to

know and figure it out. Then it may change student’s attitude to

study

二The situation of survey objects

Class 2 grade 9 is my investigation objects; it consists of 20 boys and

28 girls, including 9 externs. Most students are from village, parents

are all farmers. The total grade of this class ranked as the third one in

grade 9, not bad. However, in this class, good-graded students are less

than 20 per cent of this class. As their teachers said that every class has

a huge “tail”, if possible they extremely want to cut it off, but no

matter how hard they try, students have no motivation to learn things

and do not care about their study, students always say “whatever”

to teachers.

When students stays at home, their parents often have them do chores or

follow them to the farm, students have no time to finish homework. Many

parents consider the chores more important than their study, and they don’t

understand how crucial learning at school is! When students are backing

home after one week study, their parents hardly ask them about their life and

study in school. To their parent’s mind, it’s OK that their children do not go

to school or whether their study is good or not.

Neither students nor their parents can realize the importance of study;

this is a serious problem in rural area in China. They always deem that they

have farm so that they don’t need to worry about their children’s future.

However this stale thought will have a terrible impact on their children.

三Aim of the investigation

1． To find out the reason why students are slackers and tired of

studying.

2． To enlighten students to realize the importance of study
