英语电影绿皮书观后感

"Green Book" is a remarkable film that tells an inspiring and

heartwarming story of friendship and overcoming stereotypes. Set

in the 1960s, the film follows the journey of an African-American

pianist, Dr. Don Shirley, and his Italian-American driver, Tony

Vallelonga, as they travel through the racially segregated South.

One of the strengths of the film is the incredible performances by

the lead actors. Mahershala Ali delivers a brilliant portrayal of Dr.

Don Shirley, capturing his elegance, intelligence, and vulnerability.

Viggo Mortensen shines as Tony Vallelonga, injecting his

character with charm, humor, and a deep sense of loyalty. The

chemistry between the two actors is palpable, and their

performances elevate the film to another level.

What sets "Green Book" apart from other racially charged films is

its emphasis on breaking down stereotypes and changing

preconceived notions. The title itself refers to "The Negro Motorist

Green Book," a guidebook that provided African-Americans with

safe places to eat and stay during the era of segregation. Through

their shared experiences, Dr. Shirley and Tony begin to challenge

and dismantle their own prejudices, forming a friendship that

transcends race and class.

The film also addresses the complex issue of identity and

belonging. Dr. Shirley, an African-American man who is highly

educated and refined, feels like an outsider in both the white and

black communities. He struggles with accepting his own identity

and finding a place where he can truly be himself. This theme

resonates with many individuals who have experienced the

struggle of cultural assimilation and the pressure to conform to

societal expectations.

Another noteworthy aspect of the film is its attention to detail and

the accurate depiction of the time period. From the costumes to the

set design, every element contributes to creating an immersive

experience of the 1960s. Director Peter Farrelly does an excellent

job of capturing the racial tensions and segregation prevalent

during that era, without resorting to clichés or oversimplifications.

One of the most powerful scenes in the film is when the

protagonists encounter a group of white supremacists. The

confrontation is intense and unsettling, highlighting the harsh

reality of racism and the dangers faced by African-Americans

during that time. This scene serves as a reminder of the progress

that has been made since then, while also acknowledging that

racism still exists in various forms today.

Overall, "Green Book" is a thought-provoking and uplifting film

that promotes understanding, empathy, and mutual respect. It

shows that true friendship can develop across racial and cultural

divides, and that by challenging our own biases, we can create a

more inclusive and accepting society.
