It's a Sunday afternoon, and everyone's busy with their

own things. Dad's in the garage, fixing the bike he bought

second-hand last week. He's always into fixing things, says

it's a hobby. Mom's in the kitchen, cooking up a storm.

She's making her famous lasagna, which smells amazing

already.

My little sister is dancing around the living room,

pretending she's a ballerina in a big show. She's got her

tutu on and her ballet shoes, totally in her own world. I'm

sitting on the couch, reading a book and trying to ignore

her twirling.

Outside, our dog is barking at a squirrel that's

teasing him from the tree. He's got this determined look on

his face, like he's gonna catch that squirrel any minute

now. But the squirrel just sits there, mocking him with a

nut in its mouth.

Grandma's in her room, knitting a sweater for my

cousin's baby. She's got the TV on but the volume's down

low, so she can listen to her favorite oldies while she
