In the picture, a disabled young man is climbing the

mountain with great difficulty. He may have climbed for a quite

long time and now is reaching the top of the mountain. What

great perseverance he has! The boy’s strong will and

perseverance should give us a good lesson: whatever one does,

he should do it with determination and perseverance and never

give up easily.

Perseverance is of great importance to success in one’s

career and life. A good case in point is the saga of Colonel

Saunders. The 65-year-old man from Kentucky had a dream to

start a chain of fried chicken restaurants all over the world. To

realize his dream, he needed a restaurant owner to go into

partnership with him to open the first restaurant and to fry

chicken according to the secret recipe he had. Colonel Saunders

knocked on 1008 doors before he finally found his partner. It is

doubtful whether many of us would have had the perseverance

to knock even a hundred doors.

From the above example we can see how perseverance is

important to success. It is true that in our life we often meet with

some difficulties and obstacles,which make us feel so desperately

hopeless that we may choose to give up. At this crucial moment,

what we need is perseverance. With perseverance, we will keep

on making great efforts to overcome them and achieve final

success. Let’s remember the famous saying: Victory belongs to

the most persevering.

在我们的人生中，我们经常会遇到一些困难和障碍，使我们感到毫无

成功的希望，以致选择放弃。在这一关键时刻，我们需要的就是要有

毅力。有了毅力，我们就会不断努力，克服困难，取得最终成功。让

我们铭记至理名言:成功属于最有毅力的人。
