The Twenty fourth Olympic English Contest was held in 2008

with the original intention of welcoming and celebrating the

Olympic Games,implementing the directive spirit of the

Ministry of Education on strengthening the reform of foreign

language teaching in China,responding to the comprehensive

implementation of the New English Curriculum Standards,further

promoting the development of school English education and

teaching activities,enriching students' English learning

life,and improving the level of English composition of students

English".

enrollment and encouraging interest in learning English,and
