1．到货后出现短量Shortage was found on delivery
We have just received three cases of goods ordered by us on June 10, our
order No.202. In checking the goods against your invoice, we discovered a
considerable shortage in the number of toy animals and toy pianos sent us.
Whereas 150 dozen toy animals, were ordered, we received 144 dozen; 100 dozen
pianos were ordered, we received only 80 dozen.
The packing case was received in good order and bore no evidence of having
been tampered with in transit. Apparently, the shortage is due to omission in
packing.
Please investigate the matter, and ship the goods to make up the deficiency as
soon as possible.
2. 对质量不满意 Complaint about the quality
We received 20 bales of Raw Silk ex S.S. “Litovia”. Upon unpacking the bales,
however, we were surprised to find that the goods are far inferior to the sample
originally submitted by you.
As we advised you by cable today, we cannot take such an inferior quality
unless substantial allowance is given.
We are holding the goods at your disposal pending your reply.
3．迟装 A delay in shipment
We have been informed by the firm of Simpson & West, London, E.C.2 that ten
packages of canned good shipped by us to them on April 10 on your line have not
yet reached them. The bill of lading is UR10203.
We cannot understand why the goods have been so long delayed. Will you
please have the matter looked into to determine the cause of delay? Since the
shipment consists of seasonal merchandise, it is important that it be delivered as
soon as possible.
4．对自行车的索赔 A claim on bicycles
The captioned goods you shipped per S.S. “Nankai Maru” on Feb. 20 arrived
here yesterday.
On examination, we have found that many of the bicycles are severely
damaged, though the cases themselves show no trace of damage.
Considering this damage was due to the rough handling by the steamship
company, we claimed on them for recovery of the loss; but an investigation made
by the surveyor has revealed the fact that the damage is attributable to improper
packing. For further particulars, we refer you to the surveyor’s report enclosed.
We are, therefore, compelled to claim on you to compensate us for the loss,
