几种特殊的连词

英语中表示并列关系或从属关系的连词有很多，如： and, then, or, unless, as soon

as 等。但是英语中有一些副词、名词（短语）、分词或介词短语等，也能在句中起连接作

用，相当于连接词。现列举如下：

一、 immediately, constantly, directly 等副词活用为连词，引导时间状语从句，表

示“一……就……”，相当于 as soon as 。例如：

The young man rushed out of the hall immediately he heard the noise.

那个年轻人一听到声响就冲出了大厅。

Jenny came directly she got Linda's message.

Jenny 一收到 Linda 的信就赶来了。

二、 the moment, the instant, the minute, the second 等名词短语用作连词，也

相当于 as soon as, 表示“一……就……”。例如：

I'll ask Tom to call you the minute he comes back from work.

Tom 一下班回来我就叫他给你打电话。

The moment Dr Wang appeared on the platform, the audience all stood up

and clapped warmly.

王教授一出现在讲台上，观众们就全体起立并热烈鼓掌。

三、 the morning （ afternoon, evening ） , the night, the day, the week, the

year, the spring （ summer, autumn, winter ）等一些表示时间段的名词短语引导时间

状语从句时，可以表示 on the morning when, at the night when, on the day when, in

the rear when, in the spring when 等。例如：

The morning Mr Smith was walking along the lake he met an old friend.

那天早晨史密斯先生在湖边散步时碰到一位老朋友。

Alice's elder brother joined the army the year she went to college.

Alice 上大学那年她哥哥参军了。

四、 time 作连词时，可以和 each / every 构成 each time / every time ，表示

“无论何时；每当；每次”。 time 也可以和其他修饰语如 next, last, first, any, all, whole

等连用。例如：

Every time we come to Beijing, we go to visit the Monument to the People's

Heroes with respects.
