*be made in +地点 ：在某地生产

be made of+ 材料：由….材料制成 （看得出原材料）

be made from+ 材料：由….材料制成 （看不出原材料）

The watch is made in China.

The desk is made of trees.

Paper is made from trees.

*there/ here/ home 前面的介词省略

2. Shanghai is one of the largest cities in the world★

“one of the +形容词最高级+可数名词复数”表示“最….之一”

eg: Beijing is one of the oldest cities in China.

3. People’s Square is in the centre of Shanghai.★▲

*in the centre of…….：在……的中间

in the centre of……..与 in the middle of…….的区别

①centre 常指空间的中心，如圆，球体的“正中心”;学术，工业，商业的中心；

eg: the centre of the ball

London is one of the financial centre of the world.

②middle 可用来指时间和活动

eg: in the middle of September

in the middle of the meeting

4. It is a large public area with green grass, fountains and birds.★

*public: 公共的 in public 在公共场合

* area: n 区域，地区；面积

eg: In some areas, the children walk to school.

an area of 100 square meters 100 平方米的面积

*with: 带有

eg: I want to have a house with a beautiful garden.

*just: adv 正好，恰好， 常用语肯定句

eg: It’s just seven o’clock. That’s just what I want.

*across: prep 在….对面

eg: The Simths live just across the river.史密斯一家就住在河对面。

across from: 在….的正对面

eg: They live across from us.

across: 穿过，横过

Don’t walk across the road.

辨析：① across 和 cross

across 是介词，cross 是动词

Don’t cross the road

② across 和 through

across: 从事物的表面一边到另一边

through：穿过，从空间的一头到另一头

eg: Light es in through the window.

6. Tourists can travel around by……..

travel around: 四处游览，到处观光 = travel here and there = travel everywhere

eg: The underground in Shanghai can take you travel around.

7. There are some more expensive shops and also some cheap ones.★▲

one 是一个不定代词， 用于指代先前提到过的事物

eg: My new bedroom is bigger than the old one.

这里 one 指代前面提到的 bedroom

ones 是 one 的复数形式，如果指代复数名词，要用 ones

eg: I don’t like those green shoes, please show me the black ones.

8. At night, these tall buildings light up the sky in every direction.★

① *light up:点亮， 照亮

It’s time to light up the candle.

*light: v 照亮， 使明亮（light- lit/lighted- lit/lighted）

eg: Sunshine lights her face.

Light：n 光，光线

eg: Light travels faster than sound.

Light： adj 轻的； 浅色的； 明亮的

eg: light clothes 轻便的衣服 light green 浅绿色 a light room 明亮的房间

②direction： Cn 方向；

in all direction = in every direction 向四面八方，各个方面
