The Best Day Ever!

Hi there! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. I go to

Sunshine Elementary School and I'm in 5th grade. Today I'm

gonna tell you all about the best day I've ever had!

It all started last Saturday morning. I woke up feeling super

excited because my parents promised to take me and my little

brother Danny to the new aquarium that just opened up in our

city. I looove aquariums and seeing all the cool fish and other sea

creatures!

We got ready and left the house around 10am. The drive to

the aquarium took like half an hour. I could barely sit still in the

car I was so hyped! When we got there, the place looked

amazing from the outside. It was this huge glass building that

kind of looked like a giant fishbowl. Too cool!

We went inside and paid for our tickets. The guy at the

counter gave us these little guidebooks that showed a map of all

the different exhibits. My eyes went wide - there was so much to

see! We started off by going through the Amazon River tunnel,

which was this long see-through tunnel with the river and forest

all around you. The fish were huuuuge and so colorful. I saw

piranhas, anacondas, caimans, you name it!

Next up was the jellyfish room, which was dark with just a

few dim blue lights. The jellyfish were floating all around, pulsing

and glowing. It was like being in some sort of underwater alien

world. So trippy but awesome!

After that was the shark tunnel. Eeek! I was a little nervous at

first, being surrounded by sharks. But the glass was super thick

so I knew we were safe. The sharks looked so powerful and

graceful as they swam by. Some of them were ginormous! There

were also some funny little sharks that looked more like puppies

than scary predators.

The stingray petting area was probably my favorite part. The

stingrays would swim right up and you could reach down and

touch their smooth bodies as they glided past. They felt kind of

rubbery and velvety at the same time. A couple even jumped up

and did tricks to get food from the staff!

There were so many other cool exhibits too - the tropical

reef, the deep sea zone, the penguin playground. By the end of
