摘要：PURPOSE:To improve both power performance and fuel consumption

performance by selecting a small torque volume coefficient side in a region of an internal

combustion engine with its intake pressure not less than a supercharge start pressure

and not more than a predetermined pressure a little smaller than the maximum

supercharge pressure and a large torque volume coefficient side in a region when the

intake pressure exceeds the predetermined pressure. CONSTITUTION:An internal

combustion engine (b), in a region with its intake pressure not less than a supercharge

start pressure and not more than a predetermined pressure a little smaller than the

maximum supercharge pressure, is set in a variable volume torque converter (d) to a

small volume coefficient by a volume control device (c). Thus, the engine (b), with its

speed early increased, improves a riseup of the supercharge pressure characteristic and

acceleration performance. When the intake pressure of the engine (b) exceeds the

predetermined pressure a little smaller than the maximum supercharge pressure, the

variable volume torque converter (d) is selected to a large volume coefficient side from a

small volume coefficient side by the volume control device (c). Accordingly, when the

engine reaches an intercept point maintaining the maximum supercharge pressure, a

speed increase of the engine (b) is suppressed because of large volume, and the engine is

prevented from generating an excessive torque conversion slip and from deteriorating

fuel consumption.
