Dear Li Ming,

Congratulations! You are finally a member of the university that you’ve been dreamed for so long. We are all proud of you.

Since I’m several years older than you, I would like to share with you some of my experience that will help you succeed in your

college. First, your study should be all the time a priority on your list. Academic success will ensure a good start in your career and help

you climb higher the career ladder. Second, while you pursue academic excellence, please strike a good balance between your study and

exercise/entertainment. This helps in the long run and keeps you in good mood and physical health. Beyond these, I recommend you, if

possible, participate some social practice that interests you. Some skills such as interacting with people, responding to emergencies that

are critical to the future employment can be honed there. And your social network may also get expand.

Ok, so much I’d like to share with you. Congratulate you again and wish a good start in your college!

The bar chart above shows that different car brands bite differently in domestic market share. Compared with 2008, market

share of domestic car brands rose by some 10% in 2009, by contrast, that of the Japanese brands experienced a drop of nearly 10%.

Meantime, year 2009 have also seen an even performance of American car brands compared with last year.

It is apparent that consumers are getting fancier over domestic brands. This may come down to the following three reasons.

First, domestic cars brands are getting more mature in their technology and can rival or even outperform their overseas counterparts.

Second, the price of domestic-brand cars is more cost-effective and is more appealing to the majority of the population. Then from

the cultural perspective, unlike years ago when we just started reform and opening up, Chinese people are getting less curiously thus

less admiringly about foreign products.

As globalization deepens, I’m sure that China will enter a track of fast development and thriving in all industries. With this

momentum, we can expect that it will not be long before Chinese products will go on international stage and receive tests from

international consumers.
