say的固定搭配短语

（一）say something

该短语表示“说点什么”，在口语中主要用来建议或

鼓励别人说话或发表意见，这时它往往会后接其他补

充说明的成分，也可以独立成句。如：

Cut it out, will you? I want to say something to

you. 停一下好吗？我要和你讲句话。Give him a

chance to say something about it. 让他说说这

件事。Don't just shrug your shoulders. Say

something. 不要光耸肩。你讲讲话呀。

需要注意它在疑问句和否定句中的变形。如：

Did he say anthing about it? No, he didn't

say anything/said nothing. 他有没有告诉你有关

的任何事情？没有，他什么也没有说。

（二）say so

该短语表示“这么说”，一般是用在已经有上下文的

情况下，即这里的so是指上下文已经或会提到的内容。

如：

指代前文：If you don't agree with me,l wish you

would say so. 如果你和我看法不同，我希望你直说

出来。指代后文：If I may say so, these vegetables

are delicious. 如果我可以这样说，这些蔬菜味道好

极了。

（三）say prayers

该短语表示“做祷告”，prayers前也可以加one's。

如：

She could hear the boy saying prayers to God

loudly in the next room. 她能听到孩子在隔壁大声

地向上帝祈祷。I say my prayers every night

before going to bed. 每天晚上上床前，我都要祈祷。

（四）say a good word for sb.

该短语表示“为某人说好话；推荐某人”。也可以用

put in替换say。如：

Please say a good word for him or he may not

get the job. 请为他美言几句，否则他可能得不到工

作。His uncle put in a good word for him at City

Hall. 他的叔叔在市政府为他美言。

（五）say goodbye to sb.

该短语表示“与某人道别”。如：

We have come to say goodbye to you. 我们来跟

你告别。

【注意】

sb.是常用结构，类似的用法还有：say

hello/hi to sb.（向某人问候）、say thank you to

sb.（向某人道谢）、say good

morning/afternoon/evening to sb.（向某人问早上/

下午/晚上好）等。如：

Whenever we see Mr. Li, we say hello to him. 每

次我们看到李先生，我们都问候他。Please say

thanks to your parents. 请向你的父母亲说声谢谢。

Seeing the teacher, the students smiled and said

good morning to him. 当学生们看到老师时，他们

向老师微笑，并问早上好。

（六）say no more about

该短语表示“不再说”。如：

As long as you understand, we shall say no more

about it. 只要你明白，我们就不再说这件事了。

This is a foolish idea, no doubt, so we'll say

no more about it. 这当然是个愚蠢的想法，我们不

必再提它了。
