We’ve been sailing for three and a half months and travelled nearly ten thousand Lis. Now the
notlas were sailing on the Atlantic. I walked out onto the top of the submarine to see when it can’t
sail on that land, we could see cape Vincent and Spain and we were travelling up for coast of
Portugal. The sea was very rough and we all went back down the stairs to my room.
我们航行了三个半月，驶出了一万里。现在，诺帝留斯号在大西洋中航行。我们正向葡萄
牙行驶，走上潜水艇顶层，向外望去，我可以看见Vincent海岬跟西班牙。海的情况非常恶
劣，我们都走下楼到我的房间里。
“Tonight we escape”,said Nedland seriously. “We agree to wait for a good opportunity and by
tonight we’ll only be a few kilometers from Spain”. He came closer to me, “this evening, at 9
o’clock,hh. At that time, captain Nemo will probably be in bed. We will go to the stairs and out
onto the platform. We would take a small boat and put it into the sea, then we will row to Spain.
Everything is ready for tonight.” Then Ned Land and Conseil went to their rooms to wait for the
evening.
尼德严肃地说：“我们今晚逃走吧。我们曾承诺要等待时机，现在我们距离西班牙仅仅几
千米而已”。他贴近我说：“就今晚九点钟动身。因为那时候尼莫船长应该已经睡觉了，
到时候我们就顺着楼梯走到平台外，乘坐小船到西班牙。今晚一切就绪”。于是尼德跟康
塞尔都回到各自房间等候今晚行动。
It’s about 6 o’clock I heard the tank filling up with the water and the notlas went under the
waves. I stayed in my room and waited. At 7 o’clock I ate my dinner. I got dressed in my sea
boots, seal-skin hat and warm clothes and went into the museum room. Suddenly I felt a shock
and realized the notlas was on the bottom of the ocean. How could we escape when we are at the
bottom of the sea, I thought.
大约六点钟，我听见有人向水槽里灌水，诺帝留斯号驶向了海底。我呆在房间里等待着。
七点钟，吃过晚餐后，我穿上长筒靴，跟厚厚的衣服，戴上海豹皮帽子走到阅览室。突然心
砰地一下意识到诺第留斯号现在停在了海底。那我们要怎么逃出去啊，从这么深的海底？
我想。
At that moment, captain Nemo came into the museum and said,”ah, professor, I was looking for
you. Do you know the history of Spain?” ” Not very well”, I replied. “well, on 22nd October,1702,
a battle took place on the sea in Vega Bay. English ships destroyed many Spanish ships which
sank to the bottom of the ocean. However, the Spanish ships were full of silver, gold and jewels.
Just then, the metal shutters opened and I looked out of the glass window to the water—the
whole ocean was lit by the strong light of and I could see sailors from the notlas in their diving
suits. They were collecting all the gold, silver and jewels from wodden boxes on the sea floor
and bringing them back to the notlas. This is the place where the Spanish ships sank”, said capta
in Nemo. I could see shipwrecks of the whole fleetships and each one of them had boxes and
boxes of gold, silver and jewels. Now, do you understand why I am so rich?”hesaid and smiled.
All I have to do is collect all these treasure. When the sailors had finished, they came back to the
notlas and we continued sailing under the sea.
就在这时，尼莫船长走进阅览室说道：“哈，教授，我正找你呢。你了解西班牙历史
吗？”。不太了解，我说道。“嗯~，1702年十月二十二日，维哥海湾发生了一场战争。英国
船舰把击垮了许多西班牙船舰，那些西班牙船舰全都沉入了海底。但是那些船舰上装满了
金银珠宝。那时铁纱窗没关，我透过玻璃看到整个大海在金银珠宝的照射下变得金光闪闪。
诺第留斯号的水手们就穿上他们的潜水服，去把海床上的木盒子里的那些金银珠宝捡回到诺
第留斯号上，而我们脚下就是西班牙船舰沉没的地方。我看到了那些船舰的残骸，每一艘
上都装有一箱箱的金银珠宝。他笑着说道，现在你知道为什么我这么富有了？就是因为捡
了那些珠宝。那些水手捡光之后，回到诺第留斯号继续向前航行。”
Our plan to escape had failed, so I went to bed. The next morning, the notlas went up to the surfa
ce and we all went to the platform. We couldn’t see anything except for the sea. We were sailing
southwards, away from Europe. Ned was very sad. “well,Ned,wedon’t have a lot of blood, do
we?” I said.“No, the captain stopped every time we want to escape”, he replied. “but next time,
we will be successful”. Later that evening, captain Nemo came to see me. “I have an idea, Mr I”
he said. “you have seen the bottom of the sea during the day? Would you like to see it on a dark
night? It will be a difficult walk and we will have to climb on a water mountain”. “I would like
to go very much”, I replied. “ok, let’s go”, he said.
逃走的计划以失败告终，之后我只好回去睡觉。第二天早晨诺第留斯号驶出了海面，我们就
全都走到平台上面。除了大海，什么也看不见。我们正在向南行驶，背向欧洲。尼德非常
沮丧。“我们不像猫有九条命吧？”我说道。他回答道：“嗯，没有，可是每次我们要逃
走的时候，船长总是停船。下次，下次我们一定会成功的。”晚上，尼摩船长来找我。他
说：“我有一个想法。你看过白天的海底，想不想看下晚上是什么样？要是去看的话，道
路会非常难走，还要爬一座水底山。我回到道：“我非常愿意去。”他说道：“好，那我
们出发吧”。
And we put on our diving suits. It was midnight, and the water was very dark. Captain Nemo
pointed to a red glow in the distance, and we started walking towards it. As I looked to the red
light, I realized that it is some from the top of an enormous under-water mountain. At one o’clock,
we go toward the mountain. The part was full of sea weed and I had to climb over rocks and dead
underwater trees. I followed captain Nemo up the mountain, and we didn’t stop once. But captain
Nemo went on and on, higher and higher. After quite a climb, we were at the top and I looked
down the other side of the mountain. There was a huge volcano, and I could see red fire coming
out of the hole in the bottom of the mountain. On the ground next to the volcano, I could see a
town. It was completely ruined, but I could still see houses, churches and streets. Captain Nemo
wrote the word-Atlantis on a rock. We stayed there looking at the lost underwater city for an
hour. Then the captain pointed back down the mountain, and we made our way back to the notlas.
穿上潜水服后我们就出发了。正值午夜，水下特别黑。尼摩船长指向远处一道红色的光，
我们就开始向那里走。当我望向那道光的时候，我意识到那是水下山山顶发出的。一点中
的时候，我们向那座山行走。海底布满了海藻跟石子，还有枯树，我必须迈过去才行。一
路上我跟在船长身后， 从头到脚我们俩都没停下过，可是船长却爬越起劲越爬越高。爬了
好长一段时间之后，我们到达了山顶。顺着山的另一边向下望去，看到了一个巨大的火山
，红红的火焰从山脚下的洞里不断向上涌。 火山旁边有一座小城镇。尽管已是破壁残垣，
但仍能看见那房子，教堂跟街道。尼莫船长在一个岩石上写下了亚特兰蒂斯五个字。我们
观赏那已经沉默的水下之城观赏了近一个小时。船长指了指山下，然后我们就开始往诺第
留斯号走。
The next day, I woke up very late. The shutters were open and I could see that we were trave
lling over Atlantis. At 4 o’clock, we passed oo islands and we were travelling across the ooo sea.
From October 23 to March 12, the notlas travelled south. The sea was empty, but sometimes
we saw ships going to America or the Cape of Good Hope. Where were we going, I thought.
Were we going to the South Pole?
第二天我醒的很迟。百叶窗开着，透过玻璃，我看到我们在亚特兰蒂斯行驶着。四点时
候，我们驶过了某某岛，某某海。诺第留斯号一直向南行驶。海上什么都没有，有时会有

一些去往美国或好望角的船只。我们要去往哪里呢？我想。是要去南极吗？
On March 14, a group of whales swam alongside the notlas. We were sitting on the platform.
Captain Nemo came onto the platform to look at the whales. “look over that”, he said and pointed
to something in the distance. “do you see those black animals swimming towards us. They are
killer whales. They are cruel animals and they kill other whales. We must attack them before they
kill all the whales in the sea”. The notlas has a huge hhh at the front and we will attack them
with it. We all went down into the submarine and looked out of the glass window. The notlas start
ed to kill the whales and after an hour we all went back up to the platform. The sea was covered
with dead whales and the notlas was floating in its blood. Captain Nemo sailed next to the dead
whale and two sailors climbed from top of it. They took all the milk from its ooo and pumped it
into large glass bottles. Captain gave me a glass of fresh whale milk. It was felt warm and its
smell made me feel sick. “It’s delicious”, he said. “it’s different from cow’s milk and it’s very
important for making butter and cheese.” I risked the taste and actually it was delicious. Then the
notlas left the sea of blood and travelled down towards the South Pole.
3月14号，一群鲸鱼徘徊在诺第留斯号周围。我们正坐在平台上，这时船长走过来看着那些
鲸鱼。他指着它们说：“看那边，你们知道那群向我们游的黑色动物是什么吗？他们叫杀
手鲸鱼。是一群残酷的生物，经常残杀其他鲸鱼。我们必须在它们杀光其他鲸鱼之前，解
决掉它们。诺第留斯号船头有一个巨大的武器，我们就用它对付它们。于是我们全部都进
到潜水艇里面，透过窗户向外望。诺第留斯号开始袭击那些鲸鱼，一个小时后我们又全都
回到平台上。海里漂浮着鲸鱼们的尸体，诺第留斯号行驶在那红红的血水中。尼莫船长驶
向一只鲸鱼尸体，两名水手跳上去，将鲸鱼奶灌进大瓶子里。船长给了我一瓶。奶还是温的
但是那味道，让我觉得恶心。他说：“鲸鱼奶很美味的。它跟牛奶不同，但是制作黄油跟
奶酪的上好材料”。我勉强尝了一口，结果的确是很美味。接着，诺第留斯号驶出了那片
血水向南极开去。
