Launch Management
Launch Management of a serial product comprises all activities for planning, executing and
controlling of a product launch with the defined production systems. Launch management starts
with the pre production release and ends with the full ramp up and the process readiness of all
products, processes and production devices.
Safe Launch
Launch Management with risk oriented enhanced control activities.
Safe Launch Coordinator: Responsible for the implementation of the defined Safe Launch Plan.
He is in charge of rating the different Safe Launch Phases and defining the necessary corrective
actions. Based on the results he decides about end or continuation of Safe Launch according to
defined exit criteria. The development team in cooperation with the production site nominates the
Safe Launch coordinator; it can be a member of the project team or a production site employee.

4.1 Definition of Safe Launch
Step 1: Risk assessment in kick off resp. design/Process Review (Definition of high impact
parts or process steps), see checklists CF-037 part 1

- Tracking of process capabilities of important characteristics (except go/no go)
