With the rapid development of the modern society, education plays a

more and more important role in our daily life .Nowadays, not only young

success .For example, if you want to be a doctor in the future, you must get

a doctor .College education is a kind of specialization education, it can give

you professional knowledge in your field .If you want to get success in your

field, the knowledge is necessary.

Secondly, education can let you make more friends .There is a saying

goes that one more friend one more way .Friendship can company you in

your all life and a friend is necessary to help you to climb the mount of

success .The main way ,in modern time, to get education is to go to

school .At school you can acquire precious friendship .What’s more ,at

school you can make friends with the person who have same dream with

you .After your graduation ,you can work together and achieve your own

career .

Thirdly, education can make teenagers adapt to the society

better .Some people hold that school is a small society .It’s a common

phenomenon that a lot teenagers can’t look after themselves when they step

into the society .Education can solve this problem .The majority of us get

education at school ,after we graduate all of us will step into the

society .During the time we get education ,it can develop our ability to deal

the relationship between people ,which can help us suit a boil competition in

Education Still Needs Reform

With the rapid development of our society, it seems that we human

beings have made most things advanced. Absolutely, so is education. As

we can imagine, if a man lived in the past come to our class today, he

would recognize that we were having class, but he would never expected

to see the screen, the overhead projector, the computer, and so on. That

is to say, the tools we use in today’s education is much more

complicated but multifunctional than before. However, I don’t think the

progressive “hardware” can be the right reason which allows us to

ignore the imperfect “software” of our education, such as the idea for

education, the way of teaching, and the education system.

First of all, the teaching aim is not pure. It is a common

phenomenon that the students, from primary school to the college, all

take innumerable texts, participant in different contests, and go to all

kinds of tutorial classes. Under the large pressure from the parents,

teachers, and peers, today’s students make the most use of their time to

study, but it is really a pity that they only gain the skill to get higher

scores rather than the capability to practice ,to create, to live and to work.

In my opinion, instead of the exam-oriented education，we should

advocate the quality education. For example, students should be given

more chances to do some necessary experiments, other than just to listen

to the teachers, and take notes in the classroom. Just as an old Chinese

proverb says, giving somebody the fish is inferior to teaching him how

to fish.

Secondly, the model should be changed. Since we have insisted the

model which emphasizes “teaching” all the time, students have formed

the habit of waiting for teachers. In this way we have made our

education rather passive. In fact, interaction and cooperation are of great

importance to education. Therefore, in place of teaching directly,

teachers had better encourage students to learn by themselves at first.

That means it would be better if students could do preview, seek for

related knowledge, ask valuable questions and try to answer them.

Besides, after class, students can think more deeply about what they

have learned just now, and then give lectures to communicate with

others, including both the teachers and students.

What’s more, the education system is not satisfactory. For instance,

the education source distributed unevenly. Take Shaanxi Province as an

example, almost all the better schools assemble in Xi’an, so that the

poor students in remote places can not get better education. In addition,

the nine years of compulsory education has not been conducted well all

across our country. Under these circumstances, not every student has

equal opportunities to accept equal education. Also, from my point of

view, the National Matriculation Test is not the best way to select

qualified students for higher education, because of its inflexibility,

dogma and limitation.

All in all, for many problems still exist, education in China needs to

reform. Even so, we should always believe that it must be better

tomorrow than today. After all, China is still in the primary stage of

socialism, our country has the largest population in the world, and our

legal system is not robust enough, so nothing could be changed in one

night. Furthermore, it is the economic foundation that determines all the

other things, especially in the developing countries like China. Therefore,

the most important factors for the development of our education are time

and efforts. As long as we insist in taking every effective step, we would

make our education perfect both in “hardware” and “software” in the

future.

Everyone wants to enter the college and accept college education. In

today's world, a good education is essential. Education is not an end, but a

means to an end. In other words, we do not educate children only for

educating them. Our purpose is to fit them for life. Creative education can

help people to enhance the cultural quality. So education reform is

necessary.

First, A student`s education quality determines whether he or she would

become a successful person .So a good way of education is very important.

With the development of society, the majority of the students will stay at

school or home to study. Meanwhile, many students who have poor

compared with traditional education and will provide better opportunities for

all the people. Under the circumstances of the reform, students have more

time to schedule their study according to their own pace of learning, so

education reform is necessary.

there has been a sharp increase in juvenile delinquency. For this reason, we

should strengthen the function and responsibility of family education. In

order to reduce the criminal rate, change ways of life and form a great style

of education, the whole society should firstly receive a good education. In

this way can all the students have chances to be educated in colleges or

universities .

What′s more, thanks to the fast developed economy and increasing

requirement for people with a wide range of fields of expertise. New

education nowadays plays a more significant and complex role in the

academic world. In some modern countries, it has been fashionable to think

that free education for all can solve all the problems of society and build a

perfect nation. We do not agree with all that they have said, but education

reform must be accepted. As a result , each of us can do what we think is

suitable for us by using our brains. Then, education reform will boost the

rapid development of the national strategy.

Personally speaking, I believe that we should reform the education

system and pay attention to more students. Our society requires these brains

to build our country. As a result, more and more people have opportunities

to keep contact with high education. So I firmly recommend that all schools

should accept it.

Education needs reform

Going to school where the teachers pass on the cultural knowledge,

stimulate critical thinking and help you realize your dreams, is one of the

most important experiences of a person’s life. However, while the education

system in China is being propelled into the 21st century, the old-fashioned

teaching approach and evaluation method remain the same, and they have

caused many social problems. The education system, like an old man dying

in his bed, needs medication and to take reform steps as soon as possible.

First of all, high-tech assisted teaching method should be introduced to

the classroom. With equipments like computers and projectors, teachers

would have sufficient materials to show in class. And students don’t need to

worry about missing important pieces of lectures, because they could get

access to the slides by downloading them through the Internet. Assignments,

instead of simply memorizing the textbook, would require students to search

for the latest concerning information outside from textbooks in order to

discuss in class with each other. The new technology would bring an end to

the phenomenon where some students were too busy taking down notes

from the blackboard to absorb any information from the professor while

others were sleeping out of frustration.

Secondly, we should wave goodbye to the evaluation system which

scores on tests mean overall abilities. Take Yao Jiaxin’s case for example,

Yao’s father considered him an excellent college student based on his scores

and gave him a car as a gift. However, Yao wasn’t only an irresponsible

driver but also stabbed the poor pedestrian to death after the car accident.

Yao had severe psychological problem but none of his classmates or

teachers even his father realized how terrible it was until the tragedy

happened. The lack of communication skills and problem solving strategy as

Yao is commonly seen in universities, because Chinese students are taught

“Scores are everything.” Student files should be set up in order to record not

only their performance in studying but also in social volunteer works and

comments from others during the entire procedure of education. Only in this

way would we be able to measure the abilities of students.

Last but not the least, all these money spent and reform policies would

be useless if the student himself doesn’t want to learn. What’s more, the

explosion of new and rapidly changing roles in the economy made education

much more complicated, and universities nowadays fell to provide labor

market with sufficient creative workers. It is a huge disadvantage to China

as it has been trying to play bigger roles in global economic recovery. So,

when a student quits classes or cheats on tests, he is not only giving up on

himself but also giving up on his country.

Reforms in education will not only benefit students but also our entire

society. There will be a revolution in curriculum before the transformation

from “made in China” to “designed in China”. After adopting open-class

approaches which motivate inspirations of students and encourage their

participation, universities would be able to provide innovative talents with

both quality and quantity and our nation will have a bright future ahead.

However, great benefits as it brings, there are some disadvantages

needed to be modified. The education system needs further improvements.

With the society developing rapidly, the competition among peers to get

employed is so fierce that the heavy pressure torments us brutally.

Consequently, we are subject to get mentally and physically exhausted. The

intention of the institutions is to provide better education to prepare us for

better future. However, to some large extent, the examination-oriented

education model generally keeps a foothold in the society. We attend kinds

of examinations to get so-called certificates helpful for getting a job. Thus,

we maybe attach more importance to examinations rather than practice. Take

us medical college students for example, in order to get into a postgraduate

school, some maybe devote every effort to prepare themselves best for

examination regardless of internship. Thus, the education system needs

further improvements.

In conclusion, no doubt does the evolution of education play a

significant and intricate role in the individual and society development. It

makes a person successful and makes the society step forward steadily and

prosperously. However, we should attach more importance to the process

rather than the results. At last, I hope sincerely that some measures should

be taken to make the education system more perfect and education

accessible to more people.
