My Awesome Day!

Hi there! My name is Timmy and I'm 10 years old. I go to

Oakwood Elementary School and I'm in 5th grade. Today I'm

going to tell you all about my typical day from when I wake up to

when I go to bed. It's a pretty great day if you ask me!

The day starts when my mom comes into my room around

7am to wake me up for school. I never want to get out of my

cozy bed, but she reminds me that big kids who want to learn

have to get up early. Once I'm up, I get dressed and head to the

kitchen for breakfast.

For breakfast, I usually have a bowl of my favorite cereal with

milk and a banana. My mom makes me eat the banana because

she says it will help keep me from getting hungry before lunch. I

don't mind though because bananas are pretty tasty!

After I'm done eating, I brush my teeth really well and make

sure my hair looks good. I have to look my best for school, you

know? Then I put on my shoes and my backpack and I'm ready to

go!

My dad gives me a ride to school since I'm too young to walk

alone. He drops me off at 8:15am and I head straight for the

playground to meet up with my friends before the bell rings. We

play tag and talk and joke around until the teacher calls everyone

inside at 8:30.

My first class is math which I'm honestly pretty good at. We

learn about multiplication, division, fractions and stuff like that. I

raise my hand a lot to answer the questions. After math, I have

reading class where we go over vocabulary words and read cool

stories together.

Around 11:30am, it's time for lunch and recess which is

definitely my favorite part of the day! I eat the lunch that my

mom packed me which is usually a sandwich, an apple or carrots,

and a cookie or chips for a treat. After I'm done eating, my

friends and I go out to the playground and play basketball and

wallball and just run around getting our energy out.

Once I'm back in the classroom, I have science and social

studies back-to-back. Science is awesome because we get to do

experiments and learn about animals, plants, weather and more.
