郁达夫小说中的忏悔意识
【Abstract】
As an important writer of modern Chinese literature, Yu Dafu’s
works reflect his deep sense of repentance. His repentance
consciousness is mainly reflected in three aspects: the pain of
estrangement from his own cultural identity, the painful realization
of the historical responsibility of intellectuals, and the remorse for
his personal failures. This paper analyzes the reflection of Yu
Dafu's repentance consciousness in his works, hoping to provide a
new perspective for readers to understand his literary creation.

【Introduction】
Yu Dafu, as a representative figure of the May Fourth Movement,
played an important role in the literary and cultural revolution of
modern China. However, the pursuit of modernity and intellectual
freedom has brought him not only success and honor, but also deep
pain and regret. His repentance consciousness is an important
theme in his works, which reflects his self-awareness and spiritual
pursuit. This paper analyzes the reflection of Yu Dafu's repentance
consciousness in his works, hoping to provide a new perspective
for readers to understand his literary creation.
【The pain of estrangement from his own cultural identity】
The first aspect of Yu Dafu's repentance consciousness is the pain
of estrangement from his own cultural identity. In his works, he
always expresses his complex and contradictory feelings about the
conflict between modernity and tradition, between Western culture
and Chinese culture. He laments the loss of his own cultural roots,
and the alienation that it brings to his spirit. For example, in his
novella《Sinking》, the protagonist Mai Qixia, who has been
studying in Japan for many years, returns to his hometown and
finds that he has lost touch with the local customs and culture. He
feels himself as a stranger in his own home, and suffers from a
deep sense of loneliness and helplessness. This reflects Yu Dafu's
own feelings of estrangement from the traditional Chinese culture
due to the impact of Western culture.
