Part Two Dialogues in Situation
Situational Practice 1
1. Mr. John Brown is going to Japan, breaking his journey in
Thailand. He is a citizen
of the United States. What travel documents does he need? How long
can he stay
in both of these countries without a visa?
2. Mr. and Mrs. Rivera, tourists from New Zealand, plan to take a
trip
to Malaysia and Hong Kong. They want to stay in each place for a
month, and
enquire about visas and vaccination certificates to these countries.
Situational Practice 2
Mr. Dupont who comes from Germany is going to have a touristic or
social visit to Singapore. He wonders whether he needs a visa if he
stays there within a month. He also inquires about a vaccination
certificate to Singapore. As an agent you tell him
all this information and suggest him having a yellow fever shot
immediately since it
is not effective until ten days.

II. Work with your partner and then improvise the dialogues based on
the following situations:
1. Passports and visas are generally required for international
flights.
You’re a ticket agent, try to explain passport and visa
requirements to
the following passengers:
a) an Australian tourist visiting Singapore for about two weeks
b) Mr. Smith, an American businessman, going to Malaysia for one
month
of business activities
c) Mr. Zhang and Mr. Lee, holders of an APEC Card(Asia-Pacific
Economic Cooperation), going to Hong Kong for a two week APEC
conference
d) Mr. Lee Guang-ling, a citizen of Singapore, traveling to Bangkok
and
staying there for about three weeks.
2. Vaccinations and inoculations are required to enter many
countries.
Failure to obtain them prior to departure may result in delay or
inconvenience. At the booking office you’re explaining the
requirements
of these documents to the travelers who are planning a trip to the
following countries:
a) a traveler from Philippines visiting Kuala Lumpur
b) two Frenchmen traveling to Tokyo
c) a German tourist going to Bangkok for a business trip
d) some students going to Macau for a holiday trip
III. Work in pairs and make dialogues based on the following hints:
